You can go to your bank and fill out a dispute form for fraud and most banks are pretty good at refunding your money for that if it's legit fraud. Chase Bank is really good about this.

Wow! Those small amounts do add up and companies like these "want" us to be too busy to notice. We've got to stop them in their tracks. Thanks for the comment, Rita!

P,

Remember the check you got in the mail ? The one that told you to cash it, then wire all of it back, less a "fee" for your services ??

Patrenia,

Thank you for sharing the story. I actually receive emails all the time about the free money from Walmart. I was wondering what was the catch!.

Great site! I'm very excited for you! :)

I recently had a similiar thing to happen to me. I'm always shopping online especially through Metrostyle magazine. I ordered some items and used my husband debit card not knowing that they had automatically enrolled me in some type of rewards program. My husband started to questions some items on his bank statement titled Shoppers Discount and Rewards Something. They were debiting his account for $12.00 each every month. Well that may not sound like much but when we pulled other statements it had been going on since October 2008. I called the numbers listed on the statements and had them cancelled ASAP...............And to make a long story short, NO, NO REFUNDS.

Wise move. There are a lot of companies out there operate this way. They either don't tell you, or in small print tell you that you will be re-billed each month to be part of a program. Free product sounds good, but a company who just gives stuff out usually sets off a light in my head.
