You are so right, Iris. It's so ironic how giving makes us feel better. It's not a selfish gratification either. It's just realizing that life is not "all about me". Thanks again...

To give of oneself is the best gift you can give. This past weekend, my daughter volunteered to help Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. feed 50 needy families. Wrapping boxes with red cellophane paper, filling them with all the goods needed to make a wonderful Thanksgiving meal, including the frozen turkey, and helping the elderly recipients carry them to their car made her feel wonderful! The feeling you get when you help someone is priceless.

With the economy being in the shape it's in, we should all find a lot to be thankful for today, no matter how small. If you woke up this morning "in your right mind" and able to walk, talk and see your way from one room to the next, you're blessed!

Patrenia, thanks for reminding us, through this article, to give more of ourselves and be thankful for what we have.
